I grew up in Oakland, California and have loved drawing since I was a kid! In real life I'm mostly a mathematician and extracurricular math teacher. I have a master's in math from UWaterloo, where I used algebra to count ways to color things. (Here are my thesis, my papers, and my academic website.) I also have a bachelor's in math and master's in teaching from Harvard, and I tutor students in math and teach at various extracurricular math programs.

 

In my free time, I also love all sorts of social dance (squares, contra, ballroom, swing, and Latin), reading, doing puzzle hunts, and playing board games. These are some silly math-inspired fonts I designed.
